It took me only 1 hour 5 minutes from Shinagawa with Keikyu Line to get to the terminal station, Misakiguchi Station. Umanose Domon is one of the best photo spots at the south part of the island. You will arrive in front of Umanose Domon formed by erosion by walking through a green tunnel along with the hiking trail. Pose for photos to capture and preserve the memories of your journey.

You will reach Awazaki Lighthouse located at the east end of the island when you go east along with the hiking trail. You can enter another world with its astonishing geological formation when you get down the stairs near the sea. You can enjoy the amazing view of the sea from the hiking trail on the way to the lighthouse. You should definitely visit the place on a fine day.

Jogashima island

Go to Misaki Uoichiba Shokudo at the 2nd floor of Misaki Seafood Regional Wholesale Market if you want to enjoy tasty tuna and fresh seafood lunch. Of course, you can use Maguro Selection Meal Ticket there.

You can eat “Magurokippu-ichiba-no-kimagure-sashimi-teishoku” (Tuna market Sashimi set meal) with the ticket. The restaurant is located at a seafood wholesale market in a fishing village and the meal has full of fresh raw fish. Another recommended set menu is the fried fish using fresh fish which the chef buys on that day at the market. I guarantee you that you will definitely be satisfied with the big, tasty meal.

Misaki Port, which is one of the best fish landing facility of deep sea tuna fishing in Japan with about 300 years of history, is also famous as a fishing port for tourists. You can watch bidding for tuna for free from the 2nd floor. You can find seasonal seafood, vegetables, souvenirs, as well as tuna at “Urari” located in the center of the facility.

Walking around the fishing port is also recommended. There are fancy café and doughnut shop where you can relax once you get little tired from walking. You can see Jogashima island anywhere in the fishing port and you can enjoy taking pictures anywhere you want.

I especially recommend the exhibit which includes nine otters. You can see otters lively swimming at the otter’s playground with two pools connected with a channel. This exhibit also gives guests the opportunity to shake hands with otters at “Feed otters with fish and a finger touch” program at 2:05 every day (reservation required).

At the Keikyu Aburatsubo Marine Park, there is a water tank that displays sharks, rays and migratory fish. The sand tiger shark which is nearly three meters and sawfish are very rare. In the penguins’ island, you can watch them closely, so you should definitely take a picture of yourself with them in the background.
