How to Buy a Ticket, How to Board and Get Off a Bus
Information on how to buy a local bus ticket and how to board a bus is available here.
Information on Using a Bus
There are two types of buses, front-door boarding (fare to be paid when boarding) and rear-door boarding (fare to be paid when exiting) depending on the route.
For a bus with front-door boarding

1. How to board the bus
Check the destination of the bus.
Board the bus from the front door.
2. How to pay the fare
If you pay by cash or coupon tickets

Put the cash or coupon ticket into the fare collection box.
If you pay with a prepaid IC card for public transportation such as PASMO or Suica

Touch the reader with your card.
3. How to get off the bus
When an announcement is made for the bus stop at which you wish to exit, push the notification signal button. When the bus arrives, exit through the rear door.
*Please remain seated until the door is opened, to prevent bodily injury in the bus.
For buses with rear-door boarding

1. How to board the bus
Check the destination of the bus.
Board through the rear door.
2. How to pay the fare
If you pay by cash or coupon tickets, or use open tickets

Pick up a numbered ticket.
*A numbered ticket may not be issued in some bus stops.
If you pay with a prepaid IC card for public transportation such as PASMO or Suica

Touch the reader with your card.
The fare is to be paid when you get off the bus. The fare varies depending on the distance of your boarding.
3. How to get off the bus
When an announcement is made for the bus stop at which you wish to exit, push the notification signal button and check the fare. Pay the amount indicated in the frame whose number is the same as that of the numbered ticket you hold.
If you pay by cash or coupon tickets

Put the cash or coupon ticket along with the numbered ticket into the fare collection box installed toward the front of the bus.
Touch the reader with your card.
If you use open tickets
Show your open ticket clearly to the crew.
Precautions and notes when riding the bus
- The fare is to be paid when exiting.
- The fare for a child (ages 6 to 11) is half of the fare for an adult (amounts are rounded off).
- 2,000-yen bills, 5,000-yen bills, or 10,000-yen bills cannot be changed. Please prepare small coins or 1,000-yen bills before boarding.
- A prepaid IC card for public transportation such as PASMO or Suica is rechargeable in units of 1,000 yen on board. However, please ensure your card is recharged prior to boarding. Thank you for your cooperation.
- An IC card with remaining balance of 10,001 yen or over cannot be recharged.
- Do not move to another seat while riding. Doing so can be dangerous.
- Please refrain from using mobile phones in the bus.
- Please refrain from smoking, eating, and drinking.
- Please understand in advance that a bus delay can occur due to traffic conditions or for other reasons.
